World's largest book at La Jolla/Riford

Take a visit to the La Jolla/Riford Branch Library to see the world's largest book--Bhutan: A Visual Odyssey Across the Last Himalayan Kindgom. The book is on display courtesy of local donors Kevin and Tamara Kinsella who wanted to share the huge photo book with the public rather than keep it in their private library. The books weighs 133 pounds, stands five feet tall and opens to seven feet wide. Guiness World Records have certified the book as the biggest published book.

The San Diego Public Library also is home to  one of the world's smallest books. The Central Library's Wangenheim Room for rare books contains a work measuring 2.4 X 2.9 mm, the size of a head of a pin. The book which contains detailed images of letters of the alphabet, must be viewed under maginfication. Located on the third floor, the Wangenheim Room contains unique treasures tracing the history of book making. For more information on the Wangenheim Room and hours, VISIT HERE.
