Sony helps Library build eBook collection

With the help of Sony, the San Diego Public Library is building its eBook content and will be among the first libraries in the country to make eBook readers available for patron check out.

A generous Sony grant allows the Library to add the most popular eBook titles, including the 2010 One Book, One San Diego title Outcasts United, to its collection. These titles will be available beginning February 24 for patron download on the Library website.

Additionally, beginning later in February, San Diego Public Library patrons will be able to check out a Sony Reader at five locations—the Central Library and four branch libraries: City Heights/Weingart, Mission Valley, North University Community and Rancho Bernardo.  These Readers will be loaded with the 2010 One Book, One San Diego title Outcasts United and other eBook titles will be available for download and reading.

Sony Reader Touch Edition allows you to take your favorite books to go. Touch navigation allows you to turn pages, take notes and highlight text. Tap a word and the built-in dictionary instantly reveals the meaning.
