The San Diego Metropolitan Magazine reported that the Downtown San Diego Partnership board is officially supporting the proposed new Central Library project.
The Magazine reported that the Partnership's Board said the proposed 366,257 square foot library on the block at 11th Avenue and K Street meets the standards for public accessibility and design excellence.
The Magazine also reported that the downtown group also favors San Diego Unified School District’s proposal to allocate $20 million in Proposition S construction funding for a two-floor charter high school within the planned library. The Partnership said the school is consistent with the Partnership’s aim to expand educational opportunities downtown.
